Marbella, in Andalusian sun and lamplight.

A considered guide to the town — Old Town mornings on Plaza de los Naranjos, an afternoon between Banús and the beach, and the long Golden Mile evening between Dani García and Marbella Club that the Costa has quietly made its own.

A Note on the Town

Marbella rewards those who keep to the Golden Mile.

The town is small enough to know in a long weekend and serious enough to keep returning to. The Old Town for the morning, the beach for the afternoon, and the long evening between Skina and Marbella Club that the Costa has quietly made its own.

What follows is a short, edited guide — four daytime moments, then two of each for the evening. Enough for a long weekend, or the start of something worth returning for.

VI · A Sketched Itinerary

One day, lightly drawn.

Not a schedule — a suggestion. Move with the light, the sea, and the company you keep.

  1. 10:00

    Coffee in the Old Town

Start in the Casco Antiguo — a coffee on Plaza de los Naranjos, a slow walk through the lanes. The day asks for nothing yet.

  2. 12:30

An hour at the beach club

Down to Nikki Beach for the long lunch by the sea. Stay for the second coffee; the afternoon is in no hurry.

  3. 16:00

    A walk along Banús

Across to Puerto Banús for an hour by the boats and a drink at one of the quieter rooms behind the port.

  4. 19:00

    A first drink

Air for the long golden-hour first drink, the Marbella Club lounge for the classical second. One round, slowly.

  5. 21:00

    Dinner

Dani García for the considered Andalusian evening, Skina for the intimate two-starred tasting. Both deserve the early reservation.

  6. 00:30

    If the night insists

Olivia Valere for the storied Moorish close, Pangea for the considered Banús one. One room, slowly. The town will keep.

A Closing Thought

"In Marbella the evening is unhurried, the company chosen, and the Costa is at its best for those who keep to the Golden Mile."
